Electric Hoist Introduction and Application

Hoist is a mechanical unit that is used to raise, lower, or pull a suspended load. This hoist can be manually or electrically operated. If the hoist is electrically operated, then it is called as an electric hoist. The chain electric hoist is the most commonly used electric hoist. These hoists are a favourite because they are reasonably cheap and easy to operate. In addition, they are rust resistant and the maintenance cost is very low.

Fundamentally, the electric hoist comprises an electric motor, which is mainly responsible for the lifting and lowering motions of the hoist. These electric chain hoists usually have a carrying capacity range of 250 kg to 5 tonnes. The different types of electric hoists are auxiliary hoists, boat hoists, chain hoists, engine hoists, gate hoists, modular hoists, overhead hoists, trolley hoists, winch, and wire rope hoists. A wide variety of materials can be transferred from one place to another by using the electric hoists. Hence, this is now steadily gaining popularity in different industries.

Electric hoists can be used to transport materials such as large paper rolls, raw materials from mines, and other machinery. Before you decide to buy or rent an electric hoist, you must consider some important aspects. First, you need to determine the correct application for which you are going to use the electric hoist. Other considerations include maximum lift speed and maximum weight capacity. While handling electric hoists, you must take all the precautions mentioned in the user manual. This helps to avoid any damages to life and property.
